Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, McKenna has called Austin home since 2017. Her passion for creating beautiful and functional outdoor spaces stems from her love of nature, which began while hiking and camping in the Utah mountains with her dad. Though the natural beauty of Utah was formative, it’s the vibrant culture—and especially the Mexican food—that keeps her in Austin. Outside of work, McKenna enjoys reading, woodworking, and spending time with her wife, Christina, and their one-eyed rescue dog. She finds joy in crafting moments of wonder and tranquility in the outdoor spaces she designs.
McKenna graduated from the University of Utah in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Geography, where she cultivated her understanding of spatial environments and landscapes. She further pursued her passion by earning a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Texas in May 2024. Since joining Blu Fish Collaborative, McKenna has channeled her love for the outdoors into every project, combining creativity and functionality to create spaces that inspire and provide a sense of calm.
