A seventh-generation Texan from Cedar Creek, Texas, Emmelie has called Austin home for the past eight years. Her deep appreciation for the outdoors began in childhood, climbing "cedar" trees, camping across Texas, and attending the yearly Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo with her family. These formative experiences instilled a lifelong passion for environmental conservation and stewardship and fostered a deep love for Central Texas landscapes. Outside of work, she enjoys practicing yoga, participating in book club, hosting dinners, and spending time with her two pugs, Biscuit and Bucky.

Emmelie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability Studies and Geography, followed by a Master of Landscape Architecture, both from the University of Texas at Austin. She spent years working as a barista from high school through graduate school, developing a strong work ethic, a passion for serving and bringing moments of joy to others, and a deep love for coffee! Her professional experience includes a sustainability internship at a local park conservancy, where she contributed to ecological restoration efforts, and volunteering at UT’s Microfarm, gaining hands-on experience and knowledge in urban agriculture and food insecurity on campus. She additionally worked as a teaching assistant during graduate school before completing a landscape design internship at a local Austin firm. Emmelie is thrilled to start her career at BluFish alongside friends who inspire her every day, and working next to Salty Donuts, the best donuts and coffee in town, is a huge bonus!
