Nurceren’s passion for landscape architecture began when she was just 9 or 10 years old, growing up in Eskisehir, a small city in the Midwest of Turkey. While she loved playing outside, she often found her environment lacking safe spaces to explore. This inspired her dream of creating parks and playgrounds in her neighborhood, sparking her journey into landscape architecture. She studied Urban Design and Landscape Architecture at Bilkent University and completed internships in the Netherlands focusing on urban design and horticulture. Nurceren is a lover of travel, dance, and sketching—often taking her sketchbook on her adventures. She is also passionate about psychology, often reading books and articles on the subject. A resident of Austin, she occasionally joins Latin dance classes and is working towards becoming a Registered Landscape Architect.
Nurceren’s professional journey includes internships in urban design, horticulture, and landscape design, having worked with Erdem Architects in Ankara on small-scale landscape projects. Her drive to further her expertise led her to pursue a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 2017. After her studies, she interned with LCRA, where she focused on master planning for parks and trails. Since 2018, she has been a valued member of the Blu Fish Collaborative team, working primarily on multifamily and school projects. Her dedication to sustainable design and collaborative processes shines through in every project she undertakes.
